cowtown: the cowboy

Posted by Chris (South Jersey, United States) on 4 April 2009 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

The Cowtown Cowboy is a well known landmark in South Jersey - I am pretty sure it is used in giving directions to people (go to the Cowboy, and at the next light, turn right....) and probably has been something for the kids to look at as they drive by on the way to the Jersey Shore. A few years ago he suffered some significant damage in a wind storm - for a while all that could be seen was a large pair of blue jeans standing by the side of the road. But he was quickly repaired and looks none the worse for wear - and pretty good considering he is pushing 50 years old....

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

I hope that I can become a better photographer with the examples here on Am3 and by getting your feedback on my images.

I may not be able to reply to each of your comments - but they mean a lot to me and I thank you!
