Seaview, one of the houses on the House and Garden tour on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, featured an abandonded storehouse that was slowly being reclaimed by the gardens.
The Messiah has made things up between us so that we're now together on this, both non-Jewish outsiders and Jewish insiders. He tore down the wall we used to keep each other at a distance.Ephesians 2:14
I am on vacation for a few days and will not be able to comment on your pictures - thanks for stopping by and I will try to catch up when I get back. I hope that I can become a better photographer with the examples here on Am3 and by getting your feedback on my images.
I may not be able to reply to each of your comments - but they mean a lot to me and I thank you!

Wow; great composition of texture that is soft and fraile contrasted with a surface that is hard and rough in texture. I like the way you emphasized the difference by keeping that pop of color. I love this.

@Kelela: Thank you very much - I thought the selective color would add a bit to the image - glad you like it.
Excellent composition, Chris! I love the soft green against the grey brick! Very well done.

@Betty: Thank you Betty!
I think you used selective color here, as I doubt the brick was actually gray. Am I close? The lines of this shot are perfect.

@Judy: Yes Judy - you are right. I just learned how to let some natural color come through a b&w conversion in Photoshop Elements and thought I would try it here. The "real" brick color is red. Thanks for your comment!
Wonderful! An excellent contrast of color and texture!

@Michael Skorulski: Thank you very much...
love the colours

@Jennifer Radio: Thanks!!
Great selective color Chris, the bricks outline the plant perfectly!

@Jrask: Thanks - that was what struck my eye as well...
Betty: The contrast between the soft green and the hard cement is really good. I like how the plant is taking up space within the curve of the wall. I also like how the color of the cement is picked up in the color of the branches. The horizontal lines of the bricks are lined up just right.
The one improvement would be to get the leaves in sharper focus.
Question: Is the text you have in a separate box under your comment something one can create and include each day without retyping it?
7 May 2008 4:53pm
@Anita: Thank you Anita for your kind words and constructive comments - I agree on the focus on the leaves (that is one reason why I did the selective color when I converted to B&W).
The extra box you can set on your "account/profile" under "announcement" - a nice way to leave a general statement and not have to type it in every day.
Why are you calling me Betty? If you are comparing my work to hers, I am honored.....
great texture. neat how it seems like the tree filled the space missing from the brick structure

@danthro: Thanks - I liked that as well and is one reason I was drawn to photograph this...
