Back from our quick weekend away to Smith Beach, Virginia (on the Eastern Shore). We had a great time and saw some wonderful houses and gardens as part of the historic house and garden tour that was held on Saturday.
I decided to revisit the same barnacle encrusted floats that I captured last year (and featured yesterday). Interesting how my "eye" has changed since then - which do you like more?
Thanks for your comments over the past couple of days - I will try to catch up....
Jesus said, "Bring some of the fish you've just caught." Simon Peter joined them and pulled the net to shore—153 big fish! And even with all those fish, the net didn't rip. Jesus said, "Breakfast is ready." Not one of the disciples dared ask, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Master. Jesus then took the bread and gave it to them. He did the same with the fish. This was now the third time Jesus had shown himself alive to the disciples since being raised from the dead. John 21:10-14
I am on vacation for a few days and will not be able to comment on your pictures - thanks for stopping by and I will try to catch up when I get back. I hope that I can become a better photographer with the examples here on Am3 and by getting your feedback on my images.
I may not be able to reply to each of your comments - but they mean a lot to me and I thank you!

@Ana Lúcia: Thank you very much.
I prefer this one, Chris. Nice light on the barnacles, excellent detail.

@Betty: Thank you Betty!!
You certainly have improved your photographic eye! The other seems a bit cluttered, but in this one the eye rests immediately on the subject. Beautiful!

@Tracey: Thank you for your feedback - it is encouraging to think that I am getting better, but I know I still have a lot to learn.....
I think I like this one better. Though both have their strengths. The first photo is more about the buoys, this one is more about the barnacles. What would you think about cropping it in a little on each side, eliminating more of the background and focusing even more on the barnacles?

@Anita: Thanks Anita for your feedback - I see what you are saying about the crop but I think the picture loses a bit without the yellow handle and I like the round shape of the float. It is nice to get new opinions!!
I like the details, textures and colours in this shot and how you can see inside the shells. Brilliant Chris, I like it :)

@MaryB: Thank you Mary!!
Very nice detail

@Alun Lambert: Thanks!!
I like them both, Chris. Yesterday's sets the scene and this focuses on the barnacles. Some people might not even know what they are or where they grow/live.

@Judy: Thanks Judy - can't pick a favorite? I think I like this one a bit more but I agree as a set they do work well together!!

@Richard_Irwin: Thank you Richard!
It's good. What I like about this is you've moved closer to the barnacles this year than last. So instead of a pic that divides about equally between buoys and barnacles, you now have more of a barnacle photo. I'd play around with this even more and try getting closer, or cropping out excess background material in favor of even more barnacle action.

@Viewfinder: Thank you for your input VF - maybe I can make a whole book on barnacle shots!!
I really like this one, I can't put my finger on why but it holds my attention.
