Another picture of a magnolia bud from Winterthur, this one converted to b&w.

Magnolias offer such lovely blossoms and leaves ... the flowers on ours, though, are often too high to capture very well.

@Judy: These at Winterthur are very close to the ground - huge trees with lots of low branches. They were very pretty to see.
