While trying to avoid yard work this weekend I took a few pictures around the yard capturing the spring flowers and new buds (alas, the pictures only took up a little bit of time and I ended up cleaning the leaves out of our flower gardens!). This is a photo of the flowers on our rosemary bush - I love the smell of rosemary and my wife uses it when cooking chicken or potatoes (yum!).
at the harvest, the delicate herbs and spices, the dill and cumin, are treated delicately. On the other hand, wheat is threshed and milled, but still not endlessly. The farmer knows how to treat each kind of grain. He's learned it all from God-of-the-Angel-Armies, who knows everything about when and how and where.Isaiah 28:27-29
I am on vacation for a few days and will not be able to comment on your pictures - thanks for stopping by and I will try to catch up when I get back. I hope that I can become a better photographer with the examples here on Am3 and by getting your feedback on my images.
I may not be able to reply to each of your comments - but they mean a lot to me and I thank you!

@Hinah: Thanks! Although I didn't notice it before, that purple is a little distracting. I am just not sure about that level of "surgery" in trying to clone it out. Thanks for your input.
ha ha . . just when someone posts a flower I can name, you go and put the name right on it! Yums, t make me want to start cooking.

@Ronnie 2¢: you are better at flower identification than I - I always ask my wife what we have growing outside. Thanks!
I never saw a rosemary flower before... nice shot, Chris. I did the leaf/flower bed thing on Friday!

@Betty: Thanks - I don't remember noticing them before either. My arms are sore from raking over the weekend!!
Chris, even before I read the commentary beneath the picture, I was already planning on saying I could smell it already! I LOVE the smell of rosemary. Thanks for reminding me ;0)

@Tracey: The smells from all of our herbs is great - although I wasn't cleaning the leaves out near the rosemary this weekend I did get a lot of sage and lemon balm odors as I cleaned out leaves near where these plants grow in our garden.
Hey Chris nicely done. It looks like you used some sharpening or grain (?), something about the filtering looks different. I maybe would have cropped out some of the right side, the glow coming off the branch and flower in the bottom right is a little distracting.

@Jrask: I may have sharpened the image a bit (I can't remember and don't have a routine yet with my post-processing). You are right (like Hinah) about the flower in the right bottom corner - the more I think about it the more I want to crop it out!! Thanks for your input!!
What a beautiful flower and such a wonderful colour.

@MaryB: Thank you Mary!
I love rosemary and use it in my cooking also. It does not overwinter here, so I have to start with a new plant each year. I hadn't seen the flowers before.

@Anita: Our plant is more of a bush and was started by the previous owners of our house - it lives even in very harsh winters (our weather must be close to yours).
