This past Saturday we got out and enjoyed the good weather to walk in the gardens at Winterthur (a wonderful museum and gardens on the former estate of H.F. duPont). There is a lot of color right now, and among the brightest is the forsythia which exploded in color about a week ago.
Wilderness and desert will sing joyously, the badlands will celebrate and flower—Like the crocus in spring, bursting into blossom, a symphony of song and color. Mountain glories of Lebanon—a gift. Awesome Carmel, stunning Sharon—gifts. God's resplendent glory, fully on display. God awesome, God majestic.Isaiah 35:1-2
I am on vacation for a few days and will not be able to comment on your pictures - thanks for stopping by and I will try to catch up when I get back. I hope that I can become a better photographer with the examples here on Am3 and by getting your feedback on my images.
I may not be able to reply to each of your comments - but they mean a lot to me and I thank you!

@Betty: Thanks - the colors that day were amazing!
Wow! this has got to be the largest forsythia I've ever seen, a wonderful display of these beautiful yellow flowers. A happy and sunny image Chris.

@MaryB: This was part of a huge hedge that probably was 100 feet long. The color was almost blinding!
Forsythia is common around here, but I still love its happy yellow branches. They speak of Spring to me.

@Anita: It is a nice spring reminder - thanks!
We were driving and saw the forsythia cascading down some of the rocky ledges along the roadways and it looked so pretty.
This is a symphony of yellow to welcome spring.

Nicely done, I like how you've filled the frame with the subject but left some hint at the background

@Jrask: Thanks, that is what I was trying to do....
Gorgeous color-yellow against the blue sky with a hint of green in between. I think the focus might be a bit off, unless for some reason my screen is showing it funky. I love the forsythia! Spring has arrived!

@Tracey: Thanks Tracey - the focus looks ok (I think) on my screen (unless my eyeballs are out of focus!). I used a fairly wide DoF to try and make sure the bush was in focus, but the barn may be a bit out of focus (but it is pretty far in the background). Thanks for your comments - I always want to hear thoughts on how to get better at this!
Wow ... this is not your usual forsythia shot ... love that building in the background. Don't you just love spring!
