Things are really starting to green up now, with the grass growing and the buds starting to come in a bit on the trees. But with the spring comes rain, and the days (like Sunday here) where the green grass beckons us outside but the rain keeps us inside.
Even though the rain keeps us inside, we still recognize that it is something that we need - sometimes the things we need are not always the things that we want.
Fear not, Earth! Be glad and celebrate! God has done great things. Fear not, wild animals! The fields and meadows are greening up. The trees are bearing fruit again: a bumper crop of fig trees and vines!Children of Zion, celebrate! Be glad in your God. He's giving you a teacher to train you how to live right—Teaching, like rain out of heaven, showers of words to refresh and nourish your soul, just as he used to do. And plenty of food for your body—silos full of grain, casks of wine and barrels of olive oil. Joel 2:21-24

@rain girl: Thank you - the rain is making things grow this time of year around here....
Need vs. want . . . perfect words for us all and for this shot, plus a lovely verse from Joel 2, as well.

@Judy: Thank you Judy....
This is clever. Your words are so true. On Sunday I was out in the drizzle on a photo workshop! Fortunately, the rain was light and didn't last too long.

@Anita: Thank you Anita - even rainy days can be good for photos....
Amen to that! We have been inside for 4 days now...trying to be patient with nature so that we may reap the rewards with blooms later. Thanks for reminding me of patience. ;0)

@Craig: Thank you Craig - I took this shot about 4 times with different DoF and placements of the tree in the background. This one was the most abstract and my favorite...
It has been pretty wet lately around here. I do wish we had a little sun to balance things out a bit.
This is a nice abstract type photo.

@Laurie: Thanks - it was a spur of the moment shot Sunday morning before church - sometimes those kinds of shots work the best....
Wonderful for a spur of the moment shot! Sometimes they work out the best! We were just cloudy yesterday, all the rain was south of us. Would like some sun, though.

@Betty: Thank you Betty - by the afternoon the rain had stopped but it was still very grey and gloomy all day. Maybe later on this week the weather will improve.....
There's something wonderful about spring green and raindrops, a great abstract shot Chris.

@MaryB: Thank you Mary, you are right.
This is a great spring shot, Chris. I love the combination of the vivid green and rain drops. It's a great time of year to be a guy with a camera!
