Pictures from my oldest daughter's final high school play - The Sound of Music.
After Maria (played by my daughter Samantha) and the Captain marry, the Nazi's take over Austria and demand that the Captain serve in the German Navy. The family decides to leave Austria and they sneak away after performing a show with the children at a local festival.
This photo is the curtain call with my daughter and the Captain taking their bow. Although I am very proud of the excellent job that my daughter did in the play, we are a bit sad now because this was her final high school play and next year she will be away at college.
Sing to God a brand-new song. He's made a world of wonders! He rolled up his sleeves, He set things right. Let ocean breakers call out, "Encore!"And mountains harmonize the finale— A tribute to God when he comes, When he comes to set the earth right. He'll straighten out the whole world, He'll put the world right, and everyone in it.Psalm 98:1,8-9
I am on vacation for a few days and will not be able to comment on your pictures - thanks for stopping by and I will try to catch up when I get back. I hope that I can become a better photographer with the examples here on Am3 and by getting your feedback on my images.
I may not be able to reply to each of your comments - but they mean a lot to me and I thank you!

@Viewfinder: Yes it was - thanks for your kind comments!
A lovely series that will bring you years of happy memories. I'm sure she will be in many more plays at college.

@Richard_Irwin: Thanks, I think I will enjoy going back over these photos. I am not sure what type of drama program her college (Valley Forge Christian College) has - it is a fairly small school - but I am sure she will do something with her talent and I can't wait to see what!
A beautifully captured series, it has been such a pleasure, thank you for sharing these Chris.

Awwwww, it's sad when these events have come to their end, but I'm sure you have lots of photos for Samantha's and your memory books! She'll go on to even bigger and better things, but your home won't ever be quite the same once she's off to college. In real terms, you wouldn't want it any different.
You've given her 'wings' and soon will be time for her to 'fly'.

Lovely photo! You are marking the last moments in a period of your family life, a way of preparing in advance for her departure. I did something similar: I did my grieving before my son left.
