Behind my house is a field where some horses are kept - my daughters have always enjoyed going to visit the horses and the other day I went back as well to enjoy the warm weather and take some photos.
They are wonderful creatures, and I took quite a few pictures that I will show over the next few days. This is the most "standard" of the photos - probably the most boring as well.
His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of a man; the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love. Psalm 147:10-11
I am on vacation for a few days and will not be able to comment on your pictures - thanks for stopping by and I will try to catch up when I get back. I hope that I can become a better photographer with the examples here on Am3 and by getting your feedback on my images.
I may not be able to reply to each of your comments - but they mean a lot to me and I thank you!

fine details, good contrast with the sky.

@Dimitrios: Thank you - the sky was wonderful that day.
Thats a beautiful horse and definitely not at all boring. It must be great to have horses at the end of your garden. When I was growing up, we had a horses field behind our garden just like this, and I used to love feeding them handfuls of grass or apples from our tree.

@Richard_Irwin: Thanks Richard - my kids do love going out to visit the horses and most of the time they are friendly. The next few days will have some different views of the horses - let me know what you think!
How gorgeous he is alone, but the bright blue sky beyond is wonderful with his coloring. I hope you gave his nose a rub while there.

@Judy: Thank you Judy - yes I gave his nose a rub!!
Horses are gorgeous creatures, are they not? Of course I am partial since I own 2!

@Tracey: They are magnificent - I have a friend that owns and paints horses (check out her website www.horsefaces.com).
Horses are great - I recently read Monty Robert's "The Man who Listens to Horses" - good book !

"Standard" perhaps, but beautiful and soulful animals. In the following shot the furry texture looks like a teddy bear.
