My youngest daughter (age 13) and I went out today to take some photographs together. She is very creative and not only a wiz at all things artistic but also great with math and science (she got the best of both parents!!).
I am trying to teach her some photo basics that she can try with her point and shoot camera and I let her use my SLR from time to time. She is really impressing me with her work and maybe you will see her with a photoblog of her own soon!!
Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 11:18-19
I am on vacation for a few days and will not be able to comment on your pictures - thanks for stopping by and I will try to catch up when I get back. I hope that I can become a better photographer with the examples here on Am3 and by getting your feedback on my images.
I may not be able to reply to each of your comments - but they mean a lot to me and I thank you!
Please stop by and visit my daughter's photoblog - Views of a Girl Please visit my wife's blog - The Noble Wife
This is a realy great photograph, like the selective color. Good thing to spend time with your daughter and do things that you like together - those will become most treasured memories!

@Ina: Thanks - I do enjoy spending a little time with each of my daughters one on one (I have two girls). It gets harder as they get older, but I do treasure those times...
Love the composition. I'm sure she'll be a talented photographer. Like father, like daughter.

Wonderful capture, Chris, and keep carving out these special times. Our daughter (48) still treasures the special individual times we each shared with her and she's still 'Daddy's little girl.'

@Judy: Thank you - I will. Our eldest starting driving last year and will be going off to college in the fall. I try to carve out time with each of them that we will all remember.
THis is great; the selective color/desat processing makes this one a real eye-catcher.

Chris, Nice shot... I like the color....
I took my girls to breakfast once a week when they were seniors in high school. They will definitely remember that. I hope they do it with their kids.... When I was a kid, my dad too me to Mr Donut every Monday morning on my way to 4th grade. I still remember those times. I got my choice--two with just one topping or one "special" donut... the chocolate glazed without the whole removed and then white cream filling piled about 2 inches high..... ah yes... those were the days. (I weighed about 50 lbs then!)

@Chris (another one): Thanks buddy!! All those donuts made you into the man you are today!!! Thanks for leaving a comment and let me know if you have any advice for me on any of my other shots.
