Thinking about what to take pictures of, I usually find myself thinking in terms of grand landscapes or vistas. But often some great images are found very close to home - like this photo of paintbrushes from my wife's studio.
My wife paints, sews, writes, and is truly one of the most creative people I know. Her artistic vision is what got me interested in trying my hand at something artistic with photography. For her business, The Noble Wife, she creates and sells hand sewn or hand painted pins for which all of the proceeds are used to buy sheep or drill water wells for poor families around the world.
I probably take her for granted sometimes, and forget to look close to home for the things that are most important, but she means the world to me and I am so amazed at her artistic vision and her compassion for others. She truly is a Noble Wife.
"A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised." Proverbs 31:10-13, 30

I am on vacation for a few days and will not be able to comment on your pictures - thanks for stopping by and I will try to catch up when I get back. I hope that I can become a better photographer with the examples here on Am3 and by getting your feedback on my images.
I may not be able to reply to each of your comments - but they mean a lot to me and I thank you!

@Judy: Thanks, I am sure I have my moments!
Very nice composition and a great story to go with this photo.
I visited your wifes blog and I am very impressed and can relate to what she said about rejection and feeling sorry for herself. I've struggled with that myself.

@Susan Kronick: Thanks - I have been inspired by this blog to look at everything a little differently and see if there is a potential picture there.
